Themed Weekend
SPECIAL THEMED WEEKENDS AT THE GASCONY FRENCH COOKERY SCHOOL
11th June 2010 – Conte de Gramont
Join us for the weekend to experience the most wonderful cultural experience that rural France has to offer. After learning to cook authentic, regional recipes why not take part in one of the most charming soirees that Gramont has to offer.
The village becomes a stage, it’s residents become thespians led by a professional story teller, bringing to life local fables. Immerse yourself back in time, feast on traditional Gascon food and wine, and after all of that, participate in the torchlight procession through the village.
16TH July 2010 – Just Desserts
If desserts are your thing then this weekend is for you. Your whole weekend will be dedicated to making delicious, French, classic desserts such as Tarte aux Pommes and Crème Brulee; the Croquembouche, a traditional French wedding cake, your ‘piece de resistance’.
Pastry making, caramalised decoration and piping are just a few of the skills that you will be using. Indulge yourself and enjoy, you will be amazed!
24th September 2010 – Le Vendange.
Change into period costume and join the village in the annual grape picking festival. Midway through your cookery weekend, meet in the local vineyard owned by Bernard Mellac, where you will pick the grapes by hand. This tradition goes back more than a hundred years in Gramont, and to celebrate your hard work, walk back to the Auberge for a superb Gascon lunch, served with, of course, local wine.
NB: All special themed weekends are charged at the same rate as the weekend cookery course.
